I owned the first Apex barrel and was very impressed with it. The only issue I had with the first generation was that it was somewhat ugly. This 2nd generation Apex barrel has improved the looks making it look like a short silencer. Still works the same as the first but a bit easier now to take apart to clean. I run this with the barrel it came with on a X7 Phenom shooting at an average of 255fps. The distance is much greater than the Flatline barrel. Just remember though, the more distance, the less accurate and the less chance of the paintball breaking. Distance is great for suppressing the opposition and into a group of players rushing the field. You'll most likely reach out and touch someone in that case.

A friend of mine using a speedball marker borrowed my barrel recently and was amazed by the distance he attained. Trust me, you won't be let down in the distance department. Accuracy is another story. Turn it off, it's fairly accurate. The more you ramp it up, the... Read more

Keep in mind this is really a 12" barrel that is 14" long(2" are not actually barrel). It will not fit on shrouds that require a 14" barrel.

I bought this in a hurry in order to use it at a big game scenario event. I had previously had a flatline barrel attached to my X7 Phenom but I didn't like how if I broke paint in the flatline it meant would either have to continue playing with no accuracy at all, or I'd somehow have to find a way to spend a good 10 minutes to take apart, clean, and re-assembly the gun and barrel. The flatline does not come off easy. I found the Apex2 and I thought I might be able to achieve similar distance shooting results and improve on cleaning time if I brake paint in game.

I bought this with a Lapco 8" barrel. With such a short barrel, the shroud reaches pretty far towards the marker, leaving only a 1/2" exposed, and this is with the Phenom front, so watch out. I got it in time for the game and I played with it for 5 hours. In that time I have some sense of how it well it worked, but not a thorough test. So my first impression is that I'm happy with the purchase. Because the... Read more
