This game more than makes up for it's predecessors. It is one of the most enthralling adventure games I've ever played. Whether you are an occasional watcher of the show, a never seen it before viewer, or one of "those" who own every guidebook, DVD, the piano songbook, and the life-size homer cut out I saw at the mall today, you will love this game. It has racing, problem solving, obstacle courses, and mass destruction on its list of tasks, and I haven't even seen it past the first level yet! Avid fans will enjoy Hit and Run the most because of the many refernces to the show. You get to see the world's largest toilet, race through the nuclear power plant, collect tomacco plants, and (best of all) you get to kick Ned Flanders and other annoying characters many times. The main missions are easy enough to get through, but the side missions, extra races, gag tasks, and shear expanse of... It's very amusing with a lot of Simpsons related humor involved. The graphics are excellent 3D renditions of the 2D versions.Springfield town looks fabulous and driving through, knocking over people is excellent (but harmless) fun. Characters fall in ragdoll style and shout insults. Too much mayhem results in a police chase. The game is based around a series of GTA style missions. These are varied, reasonably challenging but not too difficult and fun. There are plenty of hidden elements and the replay value is very high. When figuring out the controls I was stood in front of an old ladie (I think it was Principal Skinner's mother). I pressed the red button only to hear Homer shout 'take that' and kick her hard enough for her to collapse on the floor. It was so funny. I proceeded to go and find flanders and kick him up and down the street. Contains all of your favorite characters. I love this game. 17 of 19 people found the following review helpful: D'OH! Mmmmm ... Simpsons on video game!, By This review is from: Simpsons Hit and Run (Video Game) THE SIMPSONS HIT AND RUN is a quantum leap from the ROAD RAGE game previously released. In ROAD RAGE you played a driving game that imitated CRAZY TAXI, and this one is more like GTA - missions on foot and driving. In HIT AND RUN you hoof it for some portions of the game, and you drive a variety of cars (just pick one off the road by standing in front of it and pressing the "y" button). You have to complete missions and tasks for the residents of Springfield while also looking out for some evil aliens that are spying on you from cola machines and robotic insects. The SIMPSONS actors voiced all the characters and the writers had a hand in the plot of the game. Springfield is lovingly reproduced in massive detail and depth. You want to stop driving every now and then to look around at all the billboards and other items that have SIMPSONS lore : ads for Duff Beer, Krusty Burger restaurants and delivery vans, ads for The NEW area code, and tomacco plants fill the...
