The Game Boy is that small, colorful handheld video game system that's clutched by folks playing it everywhere. Popular within a wide age group, including a good number of airport-lounging power executives, the Game Boy has a true hard-core fan base that comprises millions of kids around the globe.
Nintendo's Game Boy debuted in the late 1980s, and has since sold more than 60 million units worldwide--far outpacing other handheld game systems. With a catalog of more than 1,000 games and dozens of add-on peripherals, the Game Boy is a monster of a handheld game system, and a remarkably affordable one at that. Early March 1998 brought the release of the Game Boy Color system--an upgraded version of the original. It's equipped with an 8-bit CPU, which doubles the original Game Boy's computing power. The small LCD screen can display up to 56 colors simultaneously--out of a 32,000-color palette--delivered via boosted video-processing memory that provides remarkably sharp and vibrant graphics.
The hundreds of available games vary from tremendously compelling to instantly forgettable. Quality or not, the entire library of games designed for the original system is playable on Game Boy Color, but buyers should note that not all Game Boy Color games will work on the original Game Boy system.
The Game Boy Color system is available in an exotic array of colors and special editions. Accessories and add-on peripherals abound, enhancing the playing experience with everything from vibrating feedback to in-game bumps and crashes, extra battery power, and even a clever camera package that allows players to capture, tweak, and print images.

37 of 41 people found the following review helpful best pokemon game yet!!!!, By yuric allison (malta, europe) - See all my reviews This review is from: Nintendo Game Boy Color - Kiwi (Video Game) this game , if i could put eveything in 1 word , would be "best" because it`s got the gold and silver versions and much more.examples = you can catch pokemon no. 251 celebi without a gameshark or contest, you can simply find him after a certain point of the game. if you were interested or puzzled about the unown in gold/silver ,then you can relax because pokemon crystal goes deeper into the mysteries of the unown. you can choose to be a boy or a girl trainer. you can link to the world wide web with the cell phone link and you can get contest or downloadable pokemon in an instant and you can trade pokemon via cell phone with your friends which means no hassle with the game link. there are more people that get more involved in the game like a certain person that wants to catch the legendary dog suicune, but not if you catch him first ;) looks = same as gold/silver gameplay = much more interesting than gold/silver sound = same as looks overall = 5 stars if... Pokemon Crystal is just like its predecessors Gold & Silver.Pros: Cons: Overall Crystal is near perfect but still has the same flaws as Gold & Silver versions. I suggest saving money for the Ruby/Sapphire versions coming early 2003. 12 of 18 people found the following review helpful Wow! Pokemon Crystal and Gameboy Kiwi in one? What a deal!, By Thu (USA, of course!) - See all my reviews This review is from: Nintendo Game Boy Color - Kiwi (Video Game) First off, the reason why I got this was because it was cheaper than buying them separate. That doesn't include the shipping and handling, though. (That's a whole different story.) The gameboy works great. They even include batteries. You better get an AC adapter or something, though, since it'll last longer/better. Now for the game. I don't know if it's the same as G/S, since I dont' own them. I know it sure is fun though. I'm halfway through already, but it's the far as I'll probably get. I didn't know you could catch a Celebi. I thought it was only for the Japanese version, and this is definately not the Japanese version. I heard that if you go to Six Flags on a particular day, you'll be able to upload Celebi straight into your Gameboy. I hope this was a big help to you! Bye! :~<One more thing... You better play this game slow. You don't want to take all the fun out of it, do you?>~: |
