I have a 22" AA raw ride that I have underneath the rattler. It's a great sound, but it takes a little bit to get it going. I've been using brushes a lot lately which might explain that. Nevertheless, it relies on strong vibrations; the beads are too heavy for them to vibrate with soft cymbal strokes. It's a cool sound regardless. I suggest getting the sizzler.

i bought a 14' meinl cymbal (hate it there is no ring out can barely hear it) and i put this on it and it makes it sound a bit better. alot better at times depending if the rattler is wrapped around the nutt or hanging. its a good investment for a nice sizzle after hitting a cymbal for sure :)
