It's a geared design - some people want that for security. I chose it for price. I have my tom mounted to a drum rack that allows me to angle it to my exact position and thus I didn't need a tom arm that has a lot of adjustability. If you want a more adjustable tom arm, then select Gibraltar's higher end model or a Pearl tom arm. This arm, for my use, was perfect and the price was right. It works, stays tight, and doesn't slip. Well, it doesn't make me cookies either. |
