After reading these reviews I had already printed my return label when I decided to call Microsoft just to double-check. Yes it does work on the 360. I did the following, and at least it worked for me:
1. Do not use the disk that comes in the box.
2. Just plug it in, go to "settings" and put in your encryption key if you have one, if not just leave it alone.
3. Try more than once. For some weird reason it only worked at the second try.
I have this adapter in the basement and the router in the first floor. It works great, comes with the cable, and I saved $50...

4.0 out of 5 stars After you set the encryption, it doesn't care what it's plugged into., April 13, 2008

I have had this bridge for like 3 or 4 years. I bought it for my original Xbox. Once you interface with the bridge through your Xbox (or Xbox 360) and enter the correct settings (wep encryption key and so forth)to connect with your wireless router, this thing doesn't care what it's plugged into. I've actually used this bridge to connect my Toshiba HD DVD player to the internet for firmware upgrades. Currently, my son has it connected to his PlayStation 2 to play PS2 games online! Once you have it set to connect to your router, it doesn't care what it's connected to.

Pro's: It's fast/Can be used as a universal bridge for any device

Con's: This bridge can only be interfaced through the Xbox or Xbox 360. You cannot simply plug this into a PC and interface with it to make settings for it. It's completely Xbox dependant to change any settings within it./Only supports WEP encryption. And like someone else mentioned, there IS no firmware update for it to make... Read more

This wireless adapter was made for the original Xbox to connect to Xbox LIVE, though it is compatible with the Xbox 360. The main problem with it that I was not initially aware of is the fact that it only supports WEP encryption. If your wireless router uses WPA, it will not work.

Also, unlike the Xbox 360 wireless adapter, you need an AC adapter to supply power to it, as well as a CAT-5 cable which plugs into the 360's Ethernet port. The Xbox 360 wireless adapter, on the other hand, just pops right into any of your 360's USB ports, and then you're good to go after typing in your router's SSID and password.

The Xbox wireless adapter is a bit bulkier and less aesthetically pleasing, though most people don't care about the appearance of a product like this. The 360 wireless adapter is considerably smaller and more streamlined, though, making it far more visually attractive and better for fitting into smaller spaces (especially when taking into account that it...
